About the event
The RATS Course is a one day practical course designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to make meaningful contributions to the care of trauma patients.
Stations include major haemorrhage protocols (Code Red), rapid infusion devices, large bore central and peripheral IV access and REBOA - all designed to get you hands on from the first minute. We only cover the essential elements of the physiological and pathological aspects of trauma and give you the maximum amount of time to become familiar with the kit.
In addition to the course, we will provide you with the RATS Textbook. This textbook is an extension of the course and in addition to the stations mentioned, will cover airway management from Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI), videolaryngoscopes to high-flow nasal cannulae as well as covering other fundamental aspects of trauma management such as the prevention of hypothermia, management of brain…
